Christian uses a wood kiln for the firing of his ceramics.
This is not a backward-looking move and this is far from the 70’s clichés. He uses the wood kiln in a very modern way. Each firing brings out its creative surprises to this adventure.
The wood kiln is to him a rampart against mass production and is part of the very originality of his creations.
A reference to Philippe Lambercy, the very identity of ceramic being its undergoing the firing: "His only instrument was fire." said Mascarin. This is the step were things get different, get their features: the potter’s luck? It is indeed made of what he creates but that is not all as for a part, it is a mystery.
All year long, it is possible (and even advised) to visit his gallery. Open in July and August from 10 to 12 am and from 2 to 7 pm. Low season, on appointment only. Call 0385250736.
